STS’ range of plasma processing equipment for the thin film head (TFH) industry has been specifically designed to fulfil the production requirements of TFH devices. STS' extensive experience of both slider and wafer-scale processing has been gained from its large installed base of production qualified TFH systems.

It is the knowledge and experienced gained from running many systems in a production environment that puts STS in the powerful position of being able to guarantee the high levels of process repeatability and equipment reliability that are essential for all TFH production applications.

As well as etch systems, STS also supplies the TFH industry with deposition systems capable of depositing DLC and fluorinated DLC films. These systems offer the TFH manufacturer high rate, high uniformity and minimal run to run variation on a relaible production proven platform
